Tin Type of an Am. Sailor (75.17)[6]

Tin Type of an American Sailor – This is in a 5 3/8” x 7 3/8” gold leaf frame. It’s very sharp and clear. The band on his hat says “U. S. S.” and can’t make out the ships name. Circa 1870’s when the navy was converting to all steel hulls and was in the race for naval supremacy with England and the new Germany. Outstanding image. (75.17) [#6]
